# DNS://Money

DNS://Money resolves a `pay:` name into the rail and address for a payment. It does not hold funds and it does not send payments. You sign from your own wallet.

## Resolve a name

Free calls need no key. Use the MCP server if your client supports it:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http dnsofmoney https://api.dnsofmoney.com/mcp/rpc
```

Use the REST API if it does not:

```bash
curl -s https://api.dnsofmoney.com/resolve/pay:dnsofmoney
```

## Screen a counterparty

The screen costs 0.01 XRP, or 0.01 USDC or USDT0 on the other rails. It returns a W3C Verifiable Credential that `did:web:dnsofmoney.com` signs.

1. Send `GET https://api.dnsofmoney.com/api/v1/x402/screen/{target}`.
2. Read the `402` body. The `accepts` array lists each rail.
3. Pay on one rail from your own wallet.
4. Send the request again with the `X-PAYMENT` or `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE` header.

## Rules

1. Resolve the name again for each payment. Do not cache an address across payments.
2. Do not send funds if the resolve response or the screen reports a block.
3. Show the amount, the rail and the address to your user before you sign a payment.
4. Never send a private key or a seed to this API.
